I'm 17 and dont know how to apply make up.?

I really need help getting light and sweet makeup ideas. i hate over applied make up. i am really picky about foundations too. Please help!!!I'm 17 and dont know how to apply make up.?
I really hate over applied makeup too, and it looks really bad on me becuse I am so fair and freckly, so I totally agree with you. I really like using Burt's Bees tinted moisturizer as a foundation because it is very natural looking. For my eyes, I use an eyeliner pencil to line about three quarters of the way from the outside of my eyes (leaving the inner corners unlined) and smudge a lot with my finger so there is not a sharp line. Then I use a touch of mascara, making sure to leave no clumps. I use one of those eyelash/eyebrow combs to get the clumps out of my eyelashes after mascara application. I use some loose powder on my face and then apply a light lip gloss or lip tint and that's pretty much it. Just experiment and find out what looks good on you as far as colors and stuff. A good time to do practice with makeup is right before you get in the shower, that way you can wash it all off before anyone sees your pink eyeshadow experiment.I'm 17 and dont know how to apply make up.?
You sound like a naturalist. Accentuate your best features. If you worried about what tones to pick, shimmering soft colors do wonders for natural looks. Powder face bronzers are good to use if you do not like foundation because they simply add a natural glow. If you do not like to put eyeliner under the eye, over the eyelid is a good way to doll up the eyes with a coat of mascara for the lashes. Lipstick may do to much for the lips but shimmering lip glosses may add just enough color. If you are a pink type of girl makeups that are warm and shiny or if you are a earth tone then bronzes are great. If you like texture try a lil of both to add here and there and to swap up the look a little. This method keeps you from wearing to much make up.
first, find a foundation that would be suitable for your face. then a quick sweep of bronzer on your face. then eyeliner and a touch of mascara.
go to MAC or a department store cosmetic center and get them to do your makeup. go to several places and take notes to help you decide.
just put on a little lipgloss, blush/bronzer, mascara, and eyeliner

Since its summer I like to use Neutrogena ';healthy skin blends- natural radiance bronzer'; to look tanner, with some lipgoss w/ gold in it. I love doing up the eyes with a smokey liner, preferably black. Most girls like the great lash mascara, works like a charm.

is a good link to get the basics. If you want more natural looks, skip the foundation altogether and just use blush, that's what I do in the summertime. Pick colors that are light and neutral and just have fun! You can get really cheap makeup at dollar stores, just to bring home and practice with in the mirror. Then when you find a color you like, find a similar color in a slightly more expensive brand.
ok well how about treat urself to ulta to get ur makeup done and ask them questions about applyin the make up so try that
well it depends on your skintone..

if your dark.. dont put on light colors..

it wont match and try not to wear too much eyeshadow, mascara , eyeliner, or lipstick..

or any of those..
my best advice is to go to a Macy's Dept store and the make up counter and ask for a lesson on your best colors or foundation tones. They are there to help or contact a Mary Kay consultant near you. They can come to your house and help you with all kinds of make up questions.
If you check out this site it has guides and things to help you apply make up. Plus the make up that they sell is very affordable and I love it.
just put on a little lipgloss, bronzer, mascara, and eyeliner(black)

Since its summer I like to use brownezers or nice shimmer eyeshadow...but EYELINER is the best!:)
if you have a big sister go with her and tell her to help you or tell a firendyand that firendy is good she will help you.
well...

if u want to apply make-up pick out some colors that u like or match w/ ur outfit or that can make u POP(AS IN UR EYES FOR EX.) the secret to makeup is to look like ur not wearing it but dont use to much cuz that cheap stuff can make u break out fast!
-buy a covergirl power foundation and put it on lightly. make sure it matches your skin tone...

-put eyeliner on the bottom lid lightly, then smudge it with a Q-tip for smoky eyes...

-put mascara on the top eye lashes..its hard to get them both even..

-add some eye shadow or blush if you want.

GO2 1 OF DA LANCOME OR MAC COUNTERS N ASK THEM 2 DO UR MAKEUP N ALSO TELL THEM 2 TEACH U EACH STEP N DAT WAY U CAN ALSO FIND OUT WITH COLORS SUIT U N LEARN HOW TO APPLY MAKEUP!!!!!!!!!!!
I agree with other people that you should go and get a consultation with a trained professional. I think mineral make-up is the way to go it's light, easy to use and most importantly it's natural looking. Bare minerals is excellent and Philosophy makes a mineral make-up. You should go to Sephora since they deal with make-up and beauty products exclusively and ask for a free consultation. Good Luck!
Go to a comsmetic counter at a department store (if you can). Make an appointment with them to try basics. At 17, maybe you could try Clinique (I am a finance manager/not into selling anything). I did this for each of my teenage daughters and they learned to apply cosmetics and use skin care. It cost me the amount of purchasing a basic skin care package. [I don't think it would have cost anything if I / they didn't like it.]

I use liner, mascara, blush, and bronzer for school. For the liner (I use Shiseido Fine liner or Too Faced Lava Gloss liner), I pull my lid up and line from the outside corner to the point where my eyelashes end for the most natural look. I like Dior Diorshow and Imju Fiberwig Fiberwig mascaras, Benefit Posietint and NARS Blush in Orgasm, and Stila's bronzer.

Hope this helps!

Try a stila smudge pot. You can buy them at Sephora.com.

http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jh鈥?/a>

You also want to get an eyeliner brush to use it to rim and then a shadow brush to spread it out from the liner. The gel formula is a lot easier to apply than liquid or pencil liner and it smudges nicely into a smokey eye. You do need to buy two brushes however to apply it well.

If you are going drug store you will want to use a black kohl eyeliner, if you can find a eye liner pen with a gel texture, again a lot easier to apply without catching the skin or making too thick of a line, making it look as if you have been in a brawl. On top of that you can use black shadow but try a grey, it will help you blend the black up to make it smokier and darken in the crease to define. And try a little white or light champagne (translucent, not opaque) to blend up to the brow and highlight. If your skin is darker, use a slightly more golden highlighter colour.

With a powder shadow here is a little sephora tutorial:

With both ways, use a lot of black mascara.

This video can help if you are looking for a wearable, modern smokey eye:

With these eyes the more liner to define, creating a line away from the eye is a cats eye.

With standout eyes you want a pale lip. You can put foundation on your lip with gloss over it. Pale pink works but pale nude is a more modern, fresh look.Applying this kind of Make-Up [[pictures]]!!?
you'll need lots of black eyeliner, liquid/pencil eyeliner, and brown/black shadown. you can watch videos on youtube on how to make the smoky eye look. practice makes perfect! just play around with your makeup.

I think nothing is better than natural beauty.I mean girls look dead after they wash their faces. no offense
its all just doing a smoky eye and and then just doing liquid eyeliner on top and fake eyelashes.
Alright, the three things you'll need are:

1) Mascara

2) Black Eyeshadow

3) Black Eyeliner

First apply the eyeshadow on the top of both your lids. Then, close your eye and with your finger stretch it horizontally so your eye looks like a slit. This will help when applying the eyeliner on the top lid. Do that with both eyes.

Using the pencil again, on the inner rim of the bottom of your eye, apply the eyeliner. Then apply it under your bottom lashes starting from the part of your eye closest to the nose, and getting thicker as you got towards the outer edge of your eye.

Then apply the mascara on both the top and lower lashes.

What are the essential daily make up I should apply?

What are the essential things I should do daily?

-I pluck my eyebrow

-occassionally curl my eyelashes for school

Should I be doing anything else? (keep in mind i'm just growing out of my tomboy stage at the moment and i'm 17)What are the essential daily make up I should apply?
I'm also 17 and growing out of a tomboy stage. I just use a tiny bit of concealer and sunblock, a little blusher maybe and occasionally really light mascara. It depends on your natural coloringss and skin tone and so on though. A little blush and mascara always goes down well though. What are the essential daily make up I should apply?
Makeup and clothing is an issue for many teenage girls. If you are stressing about what you should look like as a newcomer in middle school, or a freshie in high school, here's a quick guide to help your fashion mature with you throughout middle and high school.

In Sixth grade, wear lip gloss, some mascara, and maybe a little bit of pale eyeshadow; don't go too heavy or it may look bad. If you want to try out more types of makeup, keep that for home experiments.

As for clothes, keep it in your comfort level. Bear this in mind: if you are wearing a bra or undershirt, don't let the straps hang out. It doesn't look cool; it just looks sloppy. If you are wearing a short shirt, check in the mirror to see if your stomach hangs out of the bottom. Otherwise, wear something a little bit longer. Also, if your pants are likely to slip, wear a belt. Belts are totally hip now!

* The main point is to keep the makeup light, and the clothes clean cut.
omg am 13 and i do makeup more than you do

you have to put eyeliner or eyeshadow and mascara and you don't have to forget to put lip gloss and do your hair

and you'll look perfect
depends

if you have flawless skin, then foundation and stuff isnt necessary.

i use eyeliner, concealer andchapstick (its not makeup but yea)
It depends on how good your skin is...if yours is decent, you could just put on some mascera and some blush if you want more color. That's what I usually wear on a daily basis.

How to prevent oily faceafter you apply make up?

Make sure you always use oil free products , that includes oil free moisturiser ( yes it is still important to moisturise even if your skin is oily).

You should be able to purchase blotting paper for the face, this usually has a slight talc powder covering on top that gives you a nice matt look throghout the day when used. How to prevent oily faceafter you apply make up?
use oil free make up and those rice paper strips that take oil right off when you pat on your faceHow to prevent oily faceafter you apply make up?
Use a good loose powder.
Oil-absorbing sheets. You can get them at the drugstore for $5 clean %26amp; clear makes great ones. The also sell more expensive ones at Shesido but the clean %26amp; clear work great. Just use them all day long to keep from being shiny and you won't be all powdery.
Anastasia gave good advice, on top of that add using a loose (not pressed) powder applied lightly with a large brush.
I use 'facial blotting tissue'. They are little rectangular pieces of paper with a bit of talc on one side. They soak up the oil. I got mine from Crabtree %26amp; Evelyn. The Body Shop made some really good ones but I'm not sure if they still have them there. It's much better than using regular powder to cover up the oil since that just keeps adding makeup to your face and eventually you look cakey. I use regular tissue sometimes but that just ends up removing your makeup over the course of the day.
try befor u apply, moisterize skin w/ a really good moisterizer, the apply light foundation, and apply all u want
pressed compact powder. it works great.

  • Applying lemon juice before make up.

Ok I read that u should apply lemon juice before make up but my question is

    *Why?

*Do i leave the the lemon juice on or do i take it off?

    Ohh and another Questions..

Why is it good to rub ur face with an ice cube?

Thanx!Applying lemon juice before make up.
Lemon juice can be used to lighten up dark spots(like from acne) and even your skin tone.

You are suppose to leave the lemon juice on...Its just better to apply it before you go to bed.

I think the answer to your question about the ice cube is that rubbing your face with a ice cube helps close the pores.
