I'm horrible at applying make-up, any help please?

Does anyone know of any websites with pictures that can show how to apply make-up properly?

Ive noticed I'm pretty bad at it and don't know too many techniques to it...I'm horrible at applying make-up, any help please?
Hi, let me preface this by letting you know ive been make up artist for 15 + years. This is an excellent question and I wish that more younger girls asked. I have a few suggestions for you. First I would look into make up books such as ';fine beauty'; by sam fine, all of kevyn acoin's book's such as ';making faces'; , ';face forward'; ect.., sam's book is a must have for woman of color any age, kevyn's books cover just about every ethnicity. Bobi Brown also has 2 books out as well, since christmas is almost here let your parents (or homever) know this interest you, they are affordable and books you will keep forever. Second.. most make up artists that you can find locally offer private lessons for just this scenario, not hard to find and a 1 on 1 might be just the ticket ( I do about 80 per year with girls ages 12-50) if the above 2 are out of your budget there are many sources online that can help but practice make perfect as they say. allow sometime in the mirror and pick one thing per day, if you wear foundation start with this.make up is about blending and not looking too ';made-up'; especially if you are younger. start off with a sponge and small amounts, remember you can always add more and since it is make up... it washes off. pick colors that suit you, and dont be affraid to ask your friends or family ';hey how does this look?'; theres an old saying... '; you better check yourself before you wreck yourself'; ask how you look before you leave the house.........the more practice you get and input you will surely get more comfortable and you will be looking fabulous before you know it. eyeliner can be tricky stay away from liquid until you have mastered a pencil.... and please please please use black eyeliner sparingly if your young go for other colors instead of jet black... if your not good at it ... messy black eyeliner stands out like a sore thumb. go with browns , or smudge some eyehshadow in your lash line. for pencil you can smudge it a bit to diffuse the line with Q-tip if you have not mastered the straight lines yet, since your a begginer make your make up regimen a short one. concealer, shadow and mascara (liner if you must), maybe a bronzer and some lipstick or gloss.... keep in mind unless you are being photographed for a magazine make up should be simple and enhance you, 10 minutes or less, keep it simple and practice, hope this helps....I'm horrible at applying make-up, any help please?

This is a really good site!
Get a book on make-up. They are inexpencive and you have the instructions to hand whenever you need them. They also tell you how to look after your skin, hair nails and stuff like that so your make-up ect acctully looks better. For example it tells your about you skin type and how certian ingredients can help your skin and then how to apply a base so your make-up stays on longer, which is probably the biggest problem for most girls. It will also give you specific looks that you can apply to different events so your make up is in context to the type of party or everyday wear ect.

Get a book, seriously, it helped me loads!

I hope that helps xxx Holly
I always go to a makeup store (mac, origins, anyone) they can teach you how to wear makeup and what colors look great on you for free. then you can buy the makeup and try it on your own!
If I were you I would buy a lot of magazines. Majority of them include make up tips and everything. I buy CHINESE magazines even though I don't know how to read them, but their make up are incredibly done. You should also play around a bit. You never know what great combination you'll find. Also, go to www.youtube.com and just type in make up tutorials or something that deals with that. They have millions of videos teaching you to apply make up and it's FREE. Well good luck to you! =)
get someone to do it for you..

a professional... lol
I often go onto www.chanel.com go onto fashion and beauty, click on make-up at the bottom of the screen and click on interactive beauty.

It shows you how to do your make-up and has helped me out a lot!
