What is powder for when applying make-up?

When I wear make-up, I use liquid foundation, but throughout the day, I notice my face starts to look oily. What can I do to stop this? I was told that I should also apply powder to my face. If this is true, when do I apply this powder? Also, do I apply the same brand/color as the foundation I am using? I rarely wear make-up so I don't know much about this.What is powder for when applying make-up?
Powder takes the ';shine'; off your face, and yes it will absorb some of the oils. Use a translucent one to save trying to match up colours. The brand shouldn't really matterWhat is powder for when applying make-up?
U KNOW COVER GIRL HAS A PRESSED FOUNDATION THAT GOES ON LIKE POWDER IT IS AWESOME !! COMES IN BLACK COMPACT WITH MIRROR AND SPONGE ITS CALLED SIMPLY POWDER FOUNDATION I THINK I GOT MINE AT THE DOLLAR STORE LIKE FAMILY DOLLAR BUT U KNO WAL MART CARRIES IT TOO ! ALWAYS PUT ON MOISTURIZER FIRST AND BE SURE AND WASH IT OFF AT NIGHT SO U DONT BREAK OUT
Hi ;-) Face powder will take away the shine by absorbing the oils but the oil will come back. Try some at a good store like Macy's. Ask advise, it will last you a life time! They do free make up sessions as they want to sell you their product line. The people there know make-up! Learn what skin type you are etc; from them then if you cannot afford their prices, take your new found knowledge to Ulta, Walgreens, you get the idea. ;-)
yes they mean compac powder n apply it once the foundation has dried n everytime u feel ur skin oilly......preferrably the same brand as ur foundation
powder does help cover up oily skin, but it clogs your pores.


have you ever thought about those oil wipes that area translucent blue color?


those work too.


anyway i would put the poweder on where you see shine or blotchy-ness.


i would go with the same shade of skin but as long as you are not allergic to certain ingredients then go with whatever brand you want or get hypoallegenic.
