Any tips on applying make up?

im 22 and iv never really wore alot of make up i look at young girls and i feel pathetic as there make up is done so well and im no good at it i also suffer from bad dry skin so find it hard to apply foundationAny tips on applying make up?
If you don't need foundation I suggest you don't use it. You only need it if you have blemishes or spots that need covering up. And even then you should only use it if you are going somewhere special because foundation clogs up pores and gives you spots.

Foundation, I think is one of the hardest to apply. You don't want to look orange but you do actually want to cover any blemishes or uneven skin tones.

First you need to make sure your foundation is the right colour for your skin tone. I can't really give much advice on this because it mostly trial and error. When buying the foundation ask a shop assistant for some help.

Next is actually applying the foundation. Start by putting a line of liquid foundation down the center of your face, then across the nose across the forehead and the chin. Don't be over generous and make the dots too big. After you have done this get a sponge and spread the foundation evenly across your face making sure you have covered the whole of your face.

Finally, once you have applied the liquid foundation I would use a press powder on top to keep the foundation on and making sure it lasts. Then you can just keep on touching up with your press powder through-out the day.

Have a few practices to make sure you are able to apply the foundation evenly.

Hope this helps :DAny tips on applying make up?
I would start with just some tinted moisturizer until you get use to applying. Its basically a less intense foundation that is better for everyday use. I would recommend australis or invisible zinc.

When you feel comfortable in application start using foundation. For the colour, match it to the back of your hand, but you can ask a shop assistant for help.

After foundation/tinted moisturizer, gently put down concealer under the eyes and try not to stretch your skin to much. I've always found liquid concealor easiest to apply.

You probably don't need much eye makeup. When applying mascara, you may accidently smudge it acround the eye. Have makeup remover handy and also wait for it to dry so it doesn't smudge as much.

Definitely take off makeup and moisturize in the night.

:)
Like said above try using moisturizer before applying your makeup. Use a good foundation brush to apply your liquid foundation. Ask someone at a make up counter to find the best foundation for your skin tone and condition. Put a bit of your foundation on the back of your hand and use the brush to put it on evenly.

I think creme blushers are best as they blend in to your skin where as most powder makeups tend to sit on top of your skin. You can use your finger to apply it to your cheeks or I use a brush similar to my foundation brush but either works.

For eyeliner, choose either black, brown or charcoal grey. Some hair colours suit different colours for example gingers look better with brown and dont suit black at all but ususally brown-haired people suit black. Apply it to the inner bottom eyelid for a light look. You can also try putting it heavier on your bottom eyelid but don't try this unless you're sure what you're doing.

With mascara it's better to stick with black most of the time. Also waterproof is a good choice. Clinique do really good mascaras btw.
1. Replace your mascara every 3 months - old mascara doesn’t go on smoothly, making your lashes dry, short and clumpy looking. If you are on a budget, try to find a great drugstore brand.

2. Get a hand mirror - when you apply your mascara, hold the mirror down by your nose and look into it. This will allow you to see the root all the way to tips of your eyelashes and gives you the best length possible for application.

3. “Wiggle and Pull” - wiggle the brush back and forth to ensure your lashes grab the most mascara possible from the wand. It’s great for volume and length.

4. Go Slow - practice your mascara application technique and take time out of your makeup applying routine to devote to applying your mascara. Great lashes make a big difference!
First of all, use a lot moisturizer before you apply anything. Wait until it dries off a little and then apply the foundation. Use the liquid foundation, cos it sticks better on the skin. Only apply the foundation under the eye, the sides of the nose, a little bit on the chin, and a bit above the eyebrows.

Since you have dry skin, I don't think you have to apply powder.

For the eyes, for beginners, just use pencil eyeliner, and mascara. Then a little of blushers on the cheeks and lip gloss.

Open youtube, they have a lot good tips!
I think a good tip for first time makeup users is to visit a makeup counter and pay (even if it is a bit of money) to have them do your makeup, go through products, your skin and what will work best for you and what will best enhance your features. You can get a great idea of what you like and most likely you can redeem your money for products so basically the makeup application / tutorial is free and you get a whole lot of good products. Very worthwhile.

All the best with your make up :)
well you might want to use sorbeleene cream . put it on your face befor you go to bed and befor you put on make up.

now this is a good tip that lots of people need be carefull with the blush. the perfect amount of eye shadow will do you just perfect.

but rember to wash your make up off after every day and put sorbeleene cream on your face. and i have dry skin to and when i wash my hands i use that .
I also have dry skin and find that a cream foundation works best preferrably with an ingrediant called softlex. Also be sure to wear a moisturiser with an spf in it under your foundation. Why not visit a cosmetic counter for a consultation.
before having a make ups on, wash face with warm water, then before foundation make then dump the sponge, or watch any make uo tutorial on youtube!
Go to a professional!!!! Get every piece of make-up under the son and then watch lots of you tube vids.
