I really need help getting light and sweet makeup ideas. i hate over applied make up. i am really picky about foundations too.Please help!!!I'm 17 and dont know how to apply make up.?
I really hate over applied makeup too, and it looks really bad on me becuse I am so fair and freckly, so I totally agree with you. I really like using Burt's Bees tinted moisturizer as a foundation because it is very natural looking. For my eyes, I use an eyeliner pencil to line about three quarters of the way from the outside of my eyes (leaving the inner corners unlined) and smudge a lot with my finger so there is not a sharp line. Then I use a touch of mascara, making sure to leave no clumps. I use one of those eyelash/eyebrow combs to get the clumps out of my eyelashes after mascara application. I use some loose powder on my face and then apply a light lip gloss or lip tint and that's pretty much it. Just experiment and find out what looks good on you as far as colors and stuff. A good time to do practice with makeup is right before you get in the shower, that way you can wash it all off before anyone sees your pink eyeshadow experiment.I'm 17 and dont know how to apply make up.?
You sound like a naturalist. Accentuate your best features. If you worried about what tones to pick, shimmering soft colors do wonders for natural looks. Powder face bronzers are good to use if you do not like foundation because they simply add a natural glow. If you do not like to put eyeliner under the eye, over the eyelid is a good way to doll up the eyes with a coat of mascara for the lashes. Lipstick may do to much for the lips but shimmering lip glosses may add just enough color. If you are a pink type of girl makeups that are warm and shiny or if you are a earth tone then bronzes are great. If you like texture try a lil of both to add here and there and to swap up the look a little. This method keeps you from wearing to much make up.
first, find a foundation that would be suitable for your face. then a quick sweep of bronzer on your face. then eyeliner and a touch of mascara.
go to MAC or a department store cosmetic center and get them to do your makeup. go to several places and take notes to help you decide.

Since its summer I like to use Neutrogena ';healthy skin blends- natural radiance bronzer'; to look tanner, with some lipgoss w/ gold in it. I love doing up the eyes with a smokey liner, preferably black. Most girls like the great lash mascara, works like a charm.

is a good link to get the basics. If you want more natural looks, skip the foundation altogether and just use blush, that's what I do in the summertime. Pick colors that are light and neutral and just have fun! You can get really cheap makeup at dollar stores, just to bring home and practice with in the mirror. Then when you find a color you like, find a similar color in a slightly more expensive brand.

my best advice is to go to a Macy's Dept store and the make up counter and ask for a lesson on your best colors or foundation tones. They are there to help or contact a Mary Kay consultant near you. They can come to your house and help you with all kinds of make up questions.

if u want to apply make-up pick out some colors that u like or match w/ ur outfit or that can make u POP(AS IN UR EYES FOR EX.) the secret to makeup is to look like ur not wearing it but dont use to much cuz that cheap stuff can make u break out fast!
-buy a covergirl power foundation and put it on lightly. make sure it matches your skin tone...
-put eyeliner on the bottom lid lightly, then smudge it with a Q-tip for smoky eyes...
-put mascara on the top eye lashes..its hard to get them both even..
-add some eye shadow or blush if you want.

I agree with other people that you should go and get a consultation with a trained professional. I think mineral make-up is the way to go it's light, easy to use and most importantly it's natural looking. Bare minerals is excellent and Philosophy makes a mineral make-up. You should go to Sephora since they deal with make-up and beauty products exclusively and ask for a free consultation. Good Luck!
Go to a comsmetic counter at a department store (if you can). Make an appointment with them to try basics. At 17, maybe you could try Clinique (I am a finance manager/not into selling anything). I did this for each of my teenage daughters and they learned to apply cosmetics and use skin care. It cost me the amount of purchasing a basic skin care package. [I don't think it would have cost anything if I / they didn't like it.]

For the liner (I use Shiseido Fine liner or Too Faced Lava Gloss liner), I pull my lid up and line from the outside corner to the point where my eyelashes end for the most natural look. I like Dior Diorshow and Imju Fiberwig Fiberwig mascaras, Benefit Posietint and NARS Blush in Orgasm, and Stila's bronzer.

You also want to get an eyeliner brush to use it to rim and then a shadow brush to spread it out from the liner. The gel formula is a lot easier to apply than liquid or pencil liner and it smudges nicely into a smokey eye. You do need to buy two brushes however to apply it well.
If you are going drug store you will want to use a black kohl eyeliner, if you can find a eye liner pen with a gel texture, again a lot easier to apply without catching the skin or making too thick of a line, making it look as if you have been in a brawl. On top of that you can use black shadow but try a grey, it will help you blend the black up to make it smokier and darken in the crease to define. And try a little white or light champagne (translucent, not opaque) to blend up to the brow and highlight. If your skin is darker, use a slightly more golden highlighter colour.

I'm also 17 and growing out of a tomboy stage. I just use a tiny bit of concealer and sunblock, a little blusher maybe and occasionally really light mascara. It depends on your natural coloringss and skin tone and so on though. A little blush and mascara always goes down well though. What are the essential daily make up I should apply?

Well first make sure your skin is clean, washed and dried. to make sure other oils and bacteria dont transfer.
USe a sponge or cotton ball, apply a small dab of foundation to the applicator. Smooth it under your eyes and over your nose and around the cheek area. make sure no lines or smudges show.. you can use the powder puff and light top off the mousse on your face. Although if youre young with good skin you dont need both.
then use the lip gloss with the tube and smooth it over your lips top and bottom just a little, then press your lips together and wipe off any excess. Mascara. Open the tube and stand in front of a mirror. go under your lashes and aim UP and away from your face.. just a touch. then touch the bottom lashes just to brighten them up..wipe off any excess with a tissues. You can use your finger to put on make up but your hands have bacteria. Better to use sponges you can throw them away or a tissue if you dont have anything else. wash your hands BEFORE .. so you dont spread bacteria to your face. if you only have ONE SPONGE. Wash it with soap and water, wringe it out and leave it out to dry for the next use.How to apply Make-Up. Please Help?
Put a little on your fingers and work it into your skin in small circular motions. Be sure to get a little under your jaw as well as all around your face so you don't get lines. You don't want to look like you have a line across the bottom of your chin where your foundation stops. I always take a tissue at the end and rub my temples/eyebrows or anywhere else where the foundation might have gotten ';stuck'; or gotten onto my hair.

It's better to use a sponge because: 1. you use less (when you put makeup on your finger it absorbs into the skin) 2. It gives you more even coverage. 3. When you use your finger, it puts more oils on your face.
I don't know about the powder, but for the mousse just use your fingers. Put a little on the tips of your fingers, and in a patting motion apply it to your face, and make sure to blend it in.

Well first make sure your skin is clean, washed and dried. to make sure other oils and bacteria dont transfer.
USe a sponge or cotton ball, apply a small dab of foundation to the applicator. Smooth it under your eyes and over your nose and around the cheek area. make sure no lines or smudges show.. you can use the powder puff and light top off the mousse on your face. Although if youre young with good skin you dont need both.
then use the lip gloss with the tube and smooth it over your lips top and bottom just a little, then press your lips together and wipe off any excess. Mascara. Open the tube and stand in front of a mirror. go under your lashes and aim UP and away from your face.. just a touch. then touch the bottom lashes just to brighten them up..wipe off any excess with a tissues. You can use your finger to put on make up but your hands have bacteria. Better to use sponges you can throw them away or a tissue if you dont have anything else. wash your hands BEFORE .. so you dont spread bacteria to your face. if you only have ONE SPONGE. Wash it with soap and water, wringe it out and leave it out to dry for the next use.How to apply Make-Up. Please Help?
Put a little on your fingers and work it into your skin in small circular motions. Be sure to get a little under your jaw as well as all around your face so you don't get lines. You don't want to look like you have a line across the bottom of your chin where your foundation stops. I always take a tissue at the end and rub my temples/eyebrows or anywhere else where the foundation might have gotten ';stuck'; or gotten onto my hair.

It's better to use a sponge because: 1. you use less (when you put makeup on your finger it absorbs into the skin) 2. It gives you more even coverage. 3. When you use your finger, it puts more oils on your face.
I don't know about the powder, but for the mousse just use your fingers. Put a little on the tips of your fingers, and in a patting motion apply it to your face, and make sure to blend it in.

Eye liner will make your eyes look smaller if you line the entire lid. To make your eyes look bigger, line 3/4 of the top lid, and only 1/2 of the bottom lid. Use black only if you have dark hair and dark eyes. Otherwise, choose a smokey grey or a brown. Also, put a lighter shadow or liner on the parts of your lids that are not lined. Last but not least, don't forget to curl your lashes before you apply macara (and ALWAYS wear mascara when you've got make up on your eyes!).

It's FASHION colour on the lids, darker shade of fashion colour (or dark neutral colour) in crease, and lighter colour highlighting the browbone (just underneath your eyebrow). For starters don't apply liner along your entire eye.
Use white eyeliner on the inside rim of your lower lid. This will help make your eyes look brighter and larger. If you do chose to use color go with brown or grey. Black is too harsh and causes your eyes to recede.
Also use a light colored eyeshadow on your lid. Something with a shimmer will help make your eyes sparkle a little.

Get one of those slanted eye shadow brushes and a black or charcoal eyeshadow and use the brush to apply the black shadow as liner but only on the top and bring it out to a little past the corner of your eye. It gives you a smoky, sexy look and it helps your eyes look bigger. If you have small eyes, eyeliner is not for you.
I put like a white shimmer on the inside corners of my eyes, right by my nose, it makes them look more OPEN!

Liquid foundations, as long as applied lightly and properly, can definitely help. The best way for dewey skin, I've found, is going almost natural. Use a liquid blush, too, as powder blushes usually do the same thing as powder foundations. Basically the most important thing is to use a good blush and bronzer on the high apples of your cheeks to give your skin a natural look, and to steer clear of too much makeup.
Try light pastel pinks for a blush, too, as that will suit spring and make you look flushed without overdone.

Cheeks-
For cheeks, use cream blush or if you're short on budget, use whatever lipstick you used on your lips and smear some on the back of your hand and mix it with a drop of moisturizer and apply to the the cheeks using your fingers.
Eyes-
For eyes, use a shadow with a bit of a sheen, use that on your brow-bone and your lids. Apply everything lightly, do not go overboard to keep that look 'dewy'. Use a coat or two of black mascara and you're ready to go.
See, it's possible to achieve the dewy look on a budget. The main thing is to be creative with whatever you have in your makeup drawer. Dewy look is all about keeping everything light and natural using moisturizer in the right amount without looking oily or greasy. Enjoy!!

First you always want to start with foundation. There is the choice of liquid, creme, or powder. I prefer creme using a cosmetic sponge and simply creates an even tone across your face. liquid can be slowly placed all over your face little by little. Power is just a loose dusting used with a large blush brush. Make sure you lightly and evenly spread the foundation other wise your skin will be lighter of darker than the skin on your neck.
Next is concealer. Use a very small amount of liquid concealer to cover problem areas like red spots and blemiches. It may take 1-2 coats to cover the problem area but do not put too much on otherwise it will just stand out more. It should be one shade lighter than your foundation so you can put on the multiple coats with out having a dark spot in the middle of your face.
Next is blush. Most women perfer to use the powder blush. spin the blush brush into a blush. Then lightly bang the brush to knock of exess powder. Sweep blush downward from the ear to mid-cheek, beginning in line with the top of the ear and ending at the end of the apple of your cheek. Choose a color that suits you skin. If you have pale skin like me you should get a fairly light pink. if your skin is a medium tone you should have a clay red(almost like a brown red) If you have olive or darker then you should stick to brown or bronze color. TO help blend the blush color and create a finished look take a small bit of foundation and lightly sweep it over the blush area.
Your eyes should be the focal point. Eye liner is simple and just follows your eyelashes. Don't put it on heavy unless you want to look like a raccoon. If you have a difficult time putting eyeliner on you upper lid the just use mascara. Use the new covergirl lash exact masacra because it won't come out chunky. Place the brush at the roots of the lashes and shake it back and fourth to catch every lash. Then pull up following the lashes. If you want a fuller lash look take a clean lash wand and comb through the lashes after you put on the mascara. Then apply another coat of masacra. Repeat until satisfied just make sure you don't have too many lashes sticking together it will look unnatural. DO NOT put mascara on the lower lashes it will have too wide of an eye and look kinda scary.
For eyeshadow I recommend using 3 shades. It doesn't matter if the shades are in the same color family. So silver and purple can be put together it's just a matter of practice. For beginners I would simply use a grey, black, or brown. The darkest part of the shadow should be placed along the lash line. Then take the brush and sweep it up towards your brow line. FOr a subtle effect let the eyeshadow blend into your own skin so that as the shadow goes up it will get lighter. If you want to use more than one shade the darkest shade should be along the lash line the medium shade should be on your entire lid and the lightest shade should go from your crease to the brow. here are a few examples of what it should look like when finished.

And last is lipstick. There really is no way to explain lipstick it is self explanitory. FInding the right shade can take a while and is nothing I can tell you. FOr the fastest way to find you lipstick shade go to a cosmetics counter at a mall they can tell you what will suit you. If you do not have full lips use the lightest frostiest color that suits you to make them fuller.

I don't know about instuctions but I usually apply my make-up in a systematic manner. First ALWAYS face-wash. then a little moisturiser. Then some concealer, on spots where it is needed %26amp; on my nose to make it look shapeful. Then I put on my eye-shadow, then my eyeliner %26amp; then my mascara. After that I put on my lipstick/lipgloss/ whatever I feel for the lips.
Done.
I don't like blush so yeah. I also don't use foundation. Just a bit of concealer.

uhm, i don`t know if this helps but i do the same thing every morning: wash my face, moisturize face, straighten my hair (so the moisturizer can get deep into the skin) then i apply foundation to my eyelids, it helps eyeshadow from creasing, then i put the lightest blue i can find (it`s close to grey, i guess) on my whole lid area, then i put dark grey at the end of my eyes, i don`t have that cat eye thing, but i also put eyeliner at the bottom. then curl my lashes, mascara %26amp; etc. last but not least i apply a bit of foundation and sometimes bronzer.
First put on an SPF moisturizer, like Kiss My Face tinted moisturizers. This will leave your skin with a healthy looking glow.
Next, put on a sheer powder on your face such as Bare Minerals 'Mineral Veil'. It's a feather-light, sheer powder that will add some shine to your skin.
Put on a pink blush to the ';apples'; of your cheeks. Use Lancome Magique Blush in 'Pink Softness'.
Finally, add some pink gloss to make your lips luscious looking. Try Revlon Just Bitten Lip Stain for a pop of color.

Apply a little bit of everything in moderation and you'll look fabulous! Here's how I do it:
1. Wash face with a gentle cleanser. Tone. Moisturize with a lightweight moisturizer.
2. Apply foundation with fingers using light feathery strokes from the inside of my face (near nose) towards my hairline. I use Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse- it helps provide that matte look without looking overdone in the slightest (I have oily skin, so it works out great for me).

First you always want to start with foundation. There is the choice of liquid, creme, or powder. I prefer creme using a cosmetic sponge and simply creates an even tone across your face. liquid can be slowly placed all over your face little by little. Power is just a loose dusting used with a large blush brush. Make sure you lightly and evenly spread the foundation other wise your skin will be lighter of darker than the skin on your neck.
Next is concealer. Use a very small amount of liquid concealer to cover problem areas like red spots and blemiches. It may take 1-2 coats to cover the problem area but do not put too much on otherwise it will just stand out more. It should be one shade lighter than your foundation so you can put on the multiple coats with out having a dark spot in the middle of your face.
Next is blush. Most women perfer to use the powder blush. spin the blush brush into a blush. Then lightly bang the brush to knock of exess powder. Sweep blush downward from the ear to mid-cheek, beginning in line with the top of the ear and ending at the end of the apple of your cheek. Choose a color that suits you skin. If you have pale skin like me you should get a fairly light pink. if your skin is a medium tone you should have a clay red(almost like a brown red) If you have olive or darker then you should stick to brown or bronze color. TO help blend the blush color and create a finished look take a small bit of foundation and lightly sweep it over the blush area.
Your eyes should be the focal point. Eye liner is simple and just follows your eyelashes. Don't put it on heavy unless you want to look like a raccoon. If you have a difficult time putting eyeliner on you upper lid the just use mascara. Use the new covergirl lash exact masacra because it won't come out chunky. Place the brush at the roots of the lashes and shake it back and fourth to catch every lash. Then pull up following the lashes. If you want a fuller lash look take a clean lash wand and comb through the lashes after you put on the mascara. Then apply another coat of masacra. Repeat until satisfied just make sure you don't have too many lashes sticking together it will look unnatural. DO NOT put mascara on the lower lashes it will have too wide of an eye and look kinda scary.
For eyeshadow I recommend using 3 shades. It doesn't matter if the shades are in the same color family. So silver and purple can be put together it's just a matter of practice. For beginners I would simply use a grey, black, or brown. The darkest part of the shadow should be placed along the lash line. Then take the brush and sweep it up towards your brow line. FOr a subtle effect let the eyeshadow blend into your own skin so that as the shadow goes up it will get lighter. If you want to use more than one shade the darkest shade should be along the lash line the medium shade should be on your entire lid and the lightest shade should go from your crease to the brow. here are a few examples of what it should look like when finished.

And last is lipstick. There really is no way to explain lipstick it is self explanitory. FInding the right shade can take a while and is nothing I can tell you. FOr the fastest way to find you lipstick shade go to a cosmetics counter at a mall they can tell you what will suit you. Don't use too much lip liner and if you do it shouldn't be too much darker than your lipstick. Blend the two together when done. If you do not have full lips use the lightest frostiest color that suits you to make them fuller.

5. Apply a neutral eyeshadow on your lids, such as brown, peach, gray, or plum. If you are have a problem with your eyeshadow creasing, you don't need to buy a fancy eyeshadow base. Using chapstick will work just as well, and is about $20 cheaper!
6. Rim your eyes with a brown, black, gray, or plum eyeliner to make them pop and make you seem more awake. Do not put too much on, or this can have a reverse effect and make you look dead.

All you need for your eyes is to curl your lashes (first), put on eyeshadow next (try neutral colors beiges, browns, peaches etc), then apply 1-2 coats of mascara.
On your lips go for a neutral gloss or lipstick. Light pinks flatter everyone. You don't want to look like you're trying too hard/not office appropriate.
Eyeliner some people swear by but I think most people look bad with it on and make their eyes look smaller. I avoid it and my eyes look bigger/brighter.

I don't know about instuctions but I usually apply my make-up in a systematic manner. First ALWAYS face-wash. then a little moisturiser. Then some concealer, on spots where it is needed %26amp; on my nose to make it look shapeful. Then I put on my eye-shadow, then my eyeliner %26amp; then my mascara. After that I put on my lipstick/lipgloss/ whatever I feel for the lips.
Done.
I don't like blush so yeah. I also don't use foundation. Just a bit of concealer.

uhm, i don`t know if this helps but i do the same thing every morning: wash my face, moisturize face, straighten my hair (so the moisturizer can get deep into the skin) then i apply foundation to my eyelids, it helps eyeshadow from creasing, then i put the lightest blue i can find (it`s close to grey, i guess) on my whole lid area, then i put dark grey at the end of my eyes, i don`t have that cat eye thing, but i also put eyeliner at the bottom. then curl my lashes, mascara %26amp; etc. last but not least i apply a bit of foundation and sometimes bronzer.
First put on an SPF moisturizer, like Kiss My Face tinted moisturizers. This will leave your skin with a healthy looking glow.
Next, put on a sheer powder on your face such as Bare Minerals 'Mineral Veil'. It's a feather-light, sheer powder that will add some shine to your skin.
Put on a pink blush to the ';apples'; of your cheeks. Use Lancome Magique Blush in 'Pink Softness'.
Finally, add some pink gloss to make your lips luscious looking. Try Revlon Just Bitten Lip Stain for a pop of color.

Apply a little bit of everything in moderation and you'll look fabulous! Here's how I do it:

A good way and i'm not saying is the best way is to keep it natural during the day and for night then go darker. Once you've applyed you foundation/tinted moisteriser (always better if you don't want that heavy look) then apply you concealer because it's gonna glide over you face a bit better and it's mixing it through with your foundy so it's not caked on or blotchy. Get your make up sponge and gently blend the out edges where you have just put the concealer. Then lightly brush over a powder/ pressed powder (that's probably why you look shiny always put face powder on). Dust over a little blush/bronzer to add some colour to your face. Add some colour to the lids of your eyes. Then comes the mascara part -my secret use about 4 different mascaras. The more you put on the more your eyes are gonna open up and be the main feature of your face. Make sure it doesn't clump tho. Then instead of putting 'eyeliner' on your bottom lashes put just a soft sweep of probably your oldest mascara. I'm saying oldest because if you had a newish mascara it will be thick and wet where as the older stuff is dryed up alot and a bit harder to put on which is a good thing for you lower lashes and that another reason why alot of people complain and say it smudges cause its to wet and they put to much on. So after all that add a little bit of eyeliner to the top lash line like the part inside your eye basically on the line where your eyelashes grow front but only on the top once you close your eyes it will then stamp down on your bottom lash line giving you a not so strong look but remember eyeliner... that's only for a night time look. Eyeliner is so 80's if its put on the wrong way. Hope that helps you.

If it's a cream, liquid or tinted moisturizer, a foundation brush is best because sponges absorb too much of the actual foundation and you end up wasting the product... so, with foundation brushes you end up using less product.
Foundation brushes blend and melt the foundation into the skin giving it an airbursh-effect. Sometimes, women go through countless bottles of foundation trying to find the ';perfect one'; when all they really need is a foundation brush... it makes a world of a difference. It takes a while getting used to using it, though. Just work on small sections of the face at a time, using small back and forth, wispy-blend-like motions. It's not like applying it with your fingers or a spogne where you just apply all over your face at once and keep blending. The difference is you blend as you go. One section at a time. It's best to start in the middle of the face like the forehead, nose and chin and then blend outward toward the ears and hairline.
My favorite foundation brushes are from MAC Cosmetics, Paula Dorf and Lancome.

Make sure your foundation and concealer is in the correct tone so you don't have an uneven skin tone. You wouldn't want to go out with half your face darker than the other half would you?
Step 5.
Apply whatever else your are going to wear. In other words seen as you are new to wearing make up, I would go for a peach blush, natural eye shadow and a clear lip gloss. Not too much to start with.

ANY girl can wear ANY color... don't let anyone tell you differently. The key is to apply your eye shadow in layers... start light and add more until you achieve the look you want. Darker shades work well in the lid line (the part you can't see when your eye are open).
Blush: There are choices here. Your face is the canvas and you're the artist. You can apply blush diagonally from your cheekbones to the tops of your ears... dramatic. You can smile and bring the color from the tops of your ears to the apples of your cheeks, in a teardrop motion... and add a little color to your nose for that ';sun-kissed'; look. With blush, unlike eye-shadow, it very important to pick a color that matches your face... skin tone, hair, eyebrows. If you're not sure, I suggest buying several colors of cheap blush. When you find one that suits you, buy a more expensive brand.... or at least a more expensive brush.
LIPS: Pick shade that matches the palette you've chosen. Your shadow, blush and lip color should compliment each other. Stay away from reds unless you teeth are bright white. If your lips are nicely shaped and have a nice color, go with gloss. You can change the shape of your lips with lip-liner if that's necessary. If your upper lip is too thin or your bottom lip is too big... use lip-liner to create a new lip line and fill the outline with a color that suits you.
Parenthetically, make-up is over-rated. Boys don't wear it, but we find them sexy. Men look great when they're stretching and yawning in the a.m. It's cute.
Men are perma-cute because they don't wear make up. We accept them as they are. If you asked this question to impress a guy, just flipping talk to him and don't worry that your lack of make up will be a deal breaker. Any guy worth loving will lick you clean of all hang-ups.

When you're done, blend it with a sponge or (in my case) lick your pinky and blend the line. Choose an eye shadow that you like. Any color you like. ANY girl can wear ANY color... don't let anyone tell you differently. The key is to apply your eye shadow in layers... start light and add more until you achieve the look you want. Darker shades work well in the lid line (the part you can't see when your eye are open).
Blush: There are choices here. Your face is the canvas and you're the artist. You can apply blush diagonally from your cheekbones to the tops of your ears... dramatic. You can smile and bring the color from the tops of your ears to the apples of your cheeks, in a teardrop motion... and add a little color to your nose for that ';sun-kissed'; look. With blush, unlike eye-shadow, it very important to pick a color that matches your face... skin tone, hair, eyebrows. If you're not sure, I suggest buying several colors of cheap blush. When you find one that suits you, buy a more expensive brand.... or at least a more expensive brush.
LIPS: Pick shade that matches the palette you've chosen. Your shadow, blush and lip color should compliment each other. Stay away from reds unless you teeth are bright white. If your lips are nicely shaped and have a nice color, go with gloss. You can change the shape of your lips with lip-liner if that's necessary. If your upper lip is too thin or your bottom lip is too big... use lip-liner to create a new lip line and fill the outline with a color that suits you.
Parenthetically, make-up is over-rated. Boys don't wear it, but we find them sexy. Men look great when they're stretching and yawning in the a.m. It's cute.
Men are perma-cute because they don't wear make up. We accept them as they are. If you asked this question to impress a guy, just flipping talk to him and don't worry that your lack of make up will be a deal breaker. Any guy worth loving will lick you clean of all hang-ups.

this is a little vague....i'm going to say using brushes for eyeshadow makes it easy to control the colors...using primers for eyeshadows and foundation are a big plus!...look on youtube for tutorials as well as tips and tricks

That is extremely complex makeup art. The eyes are done with a gold liner and shadow, but the mask portion itself would be a nightmare to do without couture makeup art tools.
To create the mask portion, you would need to airbrush the surface with that lavender looking color, then lay lace flat over the surface, and airbrush that with the rosy pink, but even that might not work. To do a look exactly like that, couture makeup artists take lace and airbrush over it. It's very difficult if you don't know how. The model has black eyeshadow in a smokey look with gold on her inner corners, the rest is airbrushed. Good idea though!
BTW you can buy an airbrush at Sephora.com I think. but why pay so much for one event?

i use covrgil mascara, its usually good.
dont use volumizing mascaras, they are very watery and get gross fast.

waterproof mascaras tend to go clumpy more than non-waterproof, and they also dry out alot faster. i recommend only using waterproof mascara if youre going swimming or if its raining.
if you can, buy an eyelash comb (they wont cost more than $10) and just after you apply your mascara, quickly brush the comb through your eyelashes and thatll help prevent them from clumping up.
also look for anti-clump mascaras, they wont completely prevent clumps but they do a better job of it than regular mascaras.
The way i put on mascara-
first i curl my lashes with a heated eyelash curler (:
then i start the mascara at the very base of my lashes and jigle it zig-zagy if u no wat i mean? THEN pull it through all my lashes to the ends. The jigling is so you get every lash =)
then ill apply it to the very tips a couple of times which will make your lashes longer [depending on the mascara brand]
Also dont forget the little lashes right at the corner of your eye (: it does make a difference =P

You will need a good, light-reflective foundation for that translucent pale skin - the base is very important here to set off the colours and not look 'busy'. You will need to make your skin flawless!! Don't get a colour lighter than your skin-tone though, you will look very painted and possible gothic if you do.
Pale lip gloss for the lips - MAC do some great ones.
While talking of MAC they do some really great strong eyeshadow colours, and fake eyelashes and a cracking range of very good mascaras. Their gel eyeliner in Blacktrack is by far and away the best eyeliner out there - easy to apply with intense colour and it can be blended, and it stays all day with no running or smudging.
Don't be tempted to mix your eyeshadow with water, moisturiser or vaseline. It makes it impossible to get that smooth blend and vaseline will only make it 'wet-look'. To get that intensity build up the colour with a sponge-tip applicator. Long handled ones are much easier to use. Blend the edge away to nothing with a firm, soft brush. Be very aware of the shape of the shadow as you apply it - follow the picture rather than putting it where you normally would!
Apply the eyeliner with a synthetic angled eyeliner brush - cotton buds will not get a smooth finish or a sharp shape. You can soften the edge a little with the cotton bud but apply with a brush - its easier and more accurate. Make sure you take the colour right down to the inner corner of your eye for that super-sharp shape.

If you dont have anywhere selling these makes near you look for them online, on ebay or go into your nearest make up selling store and just see if any have bright colours.
You can make eyeshadows appears darker and more stricking if you mix them with a bit of vaseline or moisteriser.
Apply lots to your eyelid, then apply the eyeliner as shown in the pic. Use a black eye liner.
Her eye lashes are fake ones. You can buy these in the same shops that sell makeup. They come with a guide telling you how too attach them and come in different lengths - her are pretty long ones.

liquid eyeliner is the best to use but its like painting on your face. get a good brand even if it means spending more - clinique is the best for eye makeup - its hyperallergenic which just means its less likely to irritate your eyes. and the eye shadows are a bit harder to find and very expensive for good ones - chanel has a great yellow. but try everything in the store before spending the money, in case your skin reacts.
