Applying make up for the first time?

What are the top 10 things that a girl should know when applying make up for the first time?Applying make up for the first time?
10?! I don't even know 10.

But the main thing is - don't go over the top, especially not with foundation - that seems to be the most common mistake, and looks awful. Personally, I wouldn't use it at all. Also, try eyeliner on your top eyelids rather than the bottom ones, and don't emphasise eyes and lips at the same time - go for one or the other at first. These are just the things bear in mind personally. (:Applying make up for the first time?
When you first put on makeup make sure it goes with the color you are wearing. If your just wearing a simple color like black or white then you can put on anything. don't put makeup on before you go out somewhere until you are comfortable with yourself. put mascara on first before eye shadow. it will ruin it. always have makeup remover. when you have foundation make sure you put it on lightly and under your chin or people will know. those are just some little tips. oh and if your light skinned use light like pink, gold, light blue, stuff like that. if you are dark skinned use like purples, blues, greens, stuff like that. for eyeshadow. have fun! wants you get use to it its no problem!
- don't go over board (less is always more)

- apply lip balm on before lip gloss

- always keep face clean

- face masks are a great way to keep face healty looking

- liquid eyeliner is easy to come off

- use waterproof mascara

- foundation\concealer\ etc.. works charms;D

1) Less is more

2) Don't overdo it (if you have a lot of eye makeup, go easy on the blush etc.)

3) Don't go for unnatural tones

4) Remember your audience. (ex: You don't need to look like a go go dancer at school)

5) Wash your face beforehand, and use a light moistuizer or primer to ensure a smooth application

6) Use wild colors at your own risk (some look nice with practice, though)

7) Use decent brands. They're less likely to cake, smear, or rub off

8) Don't make yourself look older than you are. It won't work, and won't look good at all.

9) Relax.....and,

10) Practice makes perfect!
Not to do it right before going out ....... i'd just try and play around with colors see what you like... buy a kit with a whole bunch of different colors ... and dont forget remover!!!!! then when you find something you like you can buy the more expensive make up! good luck
-Make sure your skin is clean and use clean makeup applicators.

-Less is more.

-Apply foundation/concealer/powder first.

-Use base products to hold on your lipstick and eyeshadow.

-If you're using a crayon/pencil eyeliner, apply it before your eyeshadow. If you're using liquid eyeliner, apply it after your eyeshadow.

-Use a light, highlighting eyeshadow under your eyebrows, right on the bone, and also in the inner creases of your eye. Apply a lighter shade on your lids and a slightly darker shade in the creases above your lid.

-Smudge in any lower eyeliner/eyeshadow.

-Wipe away any eyeshadow that falls beneath your eyes.

-Smudge in your bronzer/blush so that you don't look fake.

-Use a makeup remover wipe/pad/lotion to remove it before you go to bed.
