Is there a way of applying make-up to cover acne?

Hi, I don't have bad acne, just mild, I know the best thing for my skin is to not wear make-up, I wear make-up whenever I go to school or out.

I have, a foundation stick, liquid foundation, skin colour blush, a really good blush stick, a fundation sponge and mascara lol.

But is there like a certain procedure or technique to apply these items to reduce the visibilty of pimples? Is there a way of applying make-up to cover acne?
After you clean your face and then use a moisturizer suited to your skin, my suggestion would be to apply the concealer (you are probably using the stick for that) then use your foundation. If you need to, go back on top of the foundation with the concealer/stick and dab it in to blend with the color around it. Then set it all with powder, which will make the makeup stay on longer.

If you are using a cream blush, put it on before you powder your face.

Serious Skin Care has a MEDICATED concealer called DRY-LO from their Continuously Clear line, it is really good. It covers while it medicates with 10% sulfur. You can purchase it from their website or from HSN.com, or, as I love to shop on eBay, that is another good site to find it cheaper. You can use it day and at night while you are sleeping to treat the acne.

Just remember, as another suggested, wash, wash, wash, your face, go without foundation when you can, and make sure you WASH your sponges and disinfect them.

Best of luck to you.Is there a way of applying make-up to cover acne?
No it only looks worst
Don't cake on makeup, it only looks worse.

I don't know what coverage you liquid foundation is, but sometimes it looks better to use a fairly sheer, lightweight foundation to even out your skin tone, then dab a little bit of concealer on any pimples that are holding up the 'look at me' signs. Don't put concealer everywhere, thats not what its for, just dab it on the pimple and lightly tap or use a concealer brush to blend.

I like to use a tinted moisturiser, they look more natural and less like you're TRYING to cover up your skin. But I have concealer to put on any big spots I get.

Add mascara to detract from your skin and get your eyebrows done regularly- keep them well groomed. They can really add to how clean and fresh your face looks and even if you have bad skin, nice brows and long, clump free lashes can make the world of difference! Always skip illuminator and say away from the powders- people like powder on oily skins but it jsut settles into the pores, turns to mud on oily parts and flakes on dry bits.

Really hope you can get some sense out of this, xx!
I have found that Bare Escentuals makeup is the best for covering skin that is blotchy, scared or has acne. The reason is that it doesn't stick or build up in the acne area which always says to me, 'hey look, this is a pimple that I am trying to cover up and all my makeup is stuck in it!' You know what I mean? It is all like a mineral powder and you just keep applying it till you have the right coverage. I really works just as good as liquid foundation. It is sold at Sephora and right now, www.sephora.com has free shipping on it!
u can use a concealer... it willl cover up the pimple but in the end it will only make it worse underneath. just let ur pimple air out and it will go away by itself... i mean its a pimple.. does appearance really mean all that much i mean no1 is going to look at u n laugh n not talk to u just cuz u have a stupid pimple on ur face. makeup will cause more pimples but w/e sure y not try a concealer
It's not about the way of applying as much as it is about what is in the makeup you are applying. With a foundation stick your skin is not able to breathe which could very well cause further issues with the acne.

My daughter and I use kms mineral essentials. She has had teenage acne in the past. This makeup has an ingredient in it called zinc oxide. Our dermatologist told us it acts as a healing ingredient; so my daughter is not just covering up the acne, she is also healing it at the same time.

kms perfoms just as well as the more expensive brand, and we get a ton more for our money. It is also great to know that by being all natural, we are doing something great for our skin! Kms has their own website and I think they also sell some of their kits online. Good luck to you.
first of all dont ever ever use liquid! if you must, go for cream n apply it very lightly however i prefer the powder foundations because they look very natural n blend in perfectly with your skin, no matter how hard you try liquid and cream will always leave those lines on your jaw and you can totally tell you're wearing it
i have acne too. its normal. i suggest a bare minerals foundation kit that covers ever bump and blemish. it's oil free comes with a dvd a ';kabuki'; brush a bronzer brush and a cover brush. comes also with the skin vitamins, 2 shades of foundation powder a bronze powder and a mineral veil for finishing. go to sephora for a consultation to get the color tone of your skin. the make up artist will show you how to apply. also go to a dermotologist for perscription face wash and topical creme
Ok,

1st with that foundation spounge NEVER reuse more than twice that thing will be the cause of you acne.

2nd dab not rub atleast you can have a nice coating that is specifically covering the problem areas.

3rdly wash your face EVER DAY at least once with a good cleanser, exfoliator and toner and moistoriser suited to your skin. I like dermalogica.
