brushes ideally spread the powder or liquid much better than fingers can. if your putting on liquid, cream or gel foundation and you use your finger you might end up with streaks or patchy application. for the eyes, you really need a good eyeshadow brush to apply the colors well especially in harder to reach areas like the corners of your eyes both the inner and outer corners.
for blush, if it's a powder, you're better off with a brush, if it's a cheek stain or a cream blush, then fingers would do.Whats the point of using brushes instead of fingers to apply make up?
Fingers produce oil naturally. If you have oily skin on your face, using fingers is a bad idea as it increases oil on the skin. However, if you have extremely dry skin like me, I would actually suggest fingers, as they will add some oil to skin that so badly needs it.
Also, with brushes, you get a smoother, more consistent look. If you are doing eye makeup especially, you can blend much more easily with a brush.Whats the point of using brushes instead of fingers to apply make up?
Your fingers might have bacteria build up and when you touch your skin with it, it could irratate your skin and cause you to break-out. I would recommend you use a brush. But be sure to cleanse your brush once a week, at least. I use my fingers to apply my make-up, so used to it, I can't get a brush!

Good question!
Not only do your hands and fingers have acne causing bacteria on them, but they have many natural oils, too. The oils could cause you skin to become shiny, dry, or flaky. Brushes are much softer on your skin, also.
Makeup also would stick to your fingers and hands.

Fingers have germs on them and you could get acne if you apply makeup with your fingers. Also it is easier and faster to do it with brushes.
It goes on better, and if you clean the brushes as you are supposed to, they have less germs.
well if you use a brush to put on make up , its easier to blend. also its more precise.
two reasons because A. brushes carry less germs and B. they have a cleaner more precise application
The brushes aren't messy. But if you use your fingers it gets all over.
