How do you apply Joker make-up with that cracked look from the new film?

I bought some halloween costume make-up to go as the Joker, but I don't know how to get that cracked, peeling look heath ledger had in the Dark Knight. Any advice?How do you apply Joker make-up with that cracked look from the new film?
what you can try to do is apply the white make up and black around your eyes before you go to sleep.. With the sweating and tossing and turning, I bet you'll get that really grungy, messed up look. Then apply the scars and red dye to your lips.
