I can refer you to the best book I know of for photographic makeup application... Making Faces by Kevyn Aucoin. Kevyn worked in the cosmetic and fashion industries for many years, and his work has been honored numerous times. The book is fantastic and gives very clear directions.

you need to apply the right make up on the right people, everyone needs to have their own style of make up so there is no ';one way'; of doing it. if you need a booklet to find out what make ups match best with what skin tones, hair colors, hair styles, etc. you can find it at the MAC make up store or a Macy`s in the cosmetics department.
There are but it doesn't help much if you are learning how to become a master at it.
Try the Mac website. The have different styles monthly. Or go to your local library and look for Kevin Aucoin makeup books....they are brillant!!!
